Most nights we stayed in our camps which had canvas tents on
wooden platforms. One of the nigts we went on an overnighter
in one of the meadows over the camp and slept under the stars.
There were lots of them. The camp had a nice telescope set up
to look at the stars and galaxies. Unfortunately there were no
planets visible until the early morning. The telescope and presentation
were mostly for the benifit of those scouts working on their
Astronomy merit badge, but the rest of us could take advantage
of the opportunity as well. The Wilderness Survival merit badge
also has an over night requirement which Trevor d took
advantage of.
