February 2003, Longbow

Page 1

In February we took a group of scouts to Longbow, a camp originally built by the CCC in the Great Depression.

For a service project, we pulled in some poles for eventual rebuilding of the roofs of the cabins.

Ty F, Curtis M, and Jacob P were the scouts present. Ron C, Jody F, and Dave R were the adults.
Gathering the small trees to use as poles.
We went on a small hike down to the area where the elk hang out (though there were none on this day), and then further past a small hydroelectric plant.
In the evening we played cards by the fire.
On Sunday, we went to a GeoCache site looking for treasure at the Cascadia State Park.
