Upper Clark's Fork

Western Lore and Chuckwagon Dinner

We started the morning with Rock Climbing at Cito. The staff gave the equipment and saftey talk before the scouts were allowed to climb.

The staff throughout Philmont was great. They are on station for many days at a time, do the same presentation two to four times a day, and are able to deliver the presentation with information, humor, and dedication. The rock climbing staff was no exception.

Once the talking was done, the scouts put on their gear for climbing either the Turtle or Klingon route up the rock face.

There are lots of pictures not shown on this page. Feel free to click on one of the photos and view the related photos.

Once the scouts were up to the top, they went over to another section of the face to rappel down.

Getting back down from the rock face.

Even the cat at Cito seemed to like climbing.

We did the hike from Cito to Clark's Fork, and then up to Upper Clark's Fork to set up camp.

We then went back to Clark's Fork to enjoy the pasttimes and eat at their Chuckwagon Dinner.

One of the events at Clark's Fork is branding.

Jody did demonstrations on spinning a rope, along with some instructions.

Emily from the staff also wanted instruction.
