.30/06 Rifle reloading and shooting



This was one of the longest hiking days...

and it showed.

At Sawmill camp, we learned the skills for reloading .30/06 shells.

Some shells didn't come out quite right.

Once the shells were completed, we went to the rifle range for shooting. For most of the scouts, this was the first time for shooting guns this large.

The staff cabin has a beautiful view of the flatlands beyond the mountains.

The area also has a bunch of deer that are accustomed to people and to the sounds of .30/06 shells going off. The staff refer to these deer as "suicidal".
