We left Ponil to go to Dean Cow for a rock climbing experience.
We had information that walking along the ridge gave better
views then the straightforward hike. It probably would have
been a nice hike if it hadn't started raining.
We finally made it to Dean Cow.
Kevin and Ty had a spirited game of Rocks/Paper/Sissors to see
who got a particular tent site. Ty won.
We got camp set up and started to relax.
The rock climbing had been canceled because of the day long rain.
Everything was wet.
Our next door neighbors were a ROCS crew. These guys from all
over the country (as well as Europe) spends time doing trail building.
They came over to invite our crew to play a game of baseball.
The equipment was a little odd. The bat was the handle out of a Pick-O-Matic. The ball was a rock surrounded by compacted trash wrapped in duct tape. The bases were rocks in the ground. The boundaries were misc trees. Hitting the ball out of the canyon was an automatic home run, but you were then responsible for making a new ball.
The scouts had a great time until the rain came back up.
