Agenda for 2 July 2001 SPL: Grant Kimble ASPL: Ty Farley

--- Swimming merit badge We will be running the swimming merit badge during the summer from the Corvallis pool. I strongly encourage every scout to get this merit badge, and the skill it implies, as it is a skill that you will use throughout your life.

--- Cooking merit badge We will be running the cooking merit badges on Monday evenings at the Regan house. Lynne Regan will be conducting this merit badge.

4 July Demonstration Sometime during the day, we will have the pyrotechnicians who run the fireworks display give a short talk about the art of fireworks. This will be in the afternoon.

4 July Fireworks The scouts of the troop, as well as their families, are invited to watch the fireworks from the East side of the river, near where they are launched. There will be lots of room to spread blankets and play frisbee. Let the scoutmaster know if you are going, so you can get an appropriate entrance ticket.

5 July Firework clean up. We will be meeting at 5:00 on 1st street downtown across from where they launched the fireworks. We will need to clean up 1st street, and then move over to the golf course area to clean it up. Parents are encouraged to attend, as there is a lot of area to cover.

25 Aug Rafting or Canoe Trip We plan on having a water trip late in August. The main requirement will be to show competence in the water by having the Swimming Merit badge.
