Agenda for 4 June 2001

SPL: Grant Kimble ASPL: Ty Farley

Meeting at Thompson Shelter at Avery Park at 7:00. Bring uniforms, as we expect to have visitors. This is a family event, so bring your family. I will be there about 6:00 to start the deserts and lashings. If you can be there early, you can help as well.

The main goal is to welcome visitors, and help them understand what scouting is. So please talk with the visitors, both adult and youth. The secondary goal is to have fun!

7:00 Opening flag ceremony

--- Introductions

--- Short presentations of scouting, and Troop 163 and Troop 2.

11 June Citizenship in the Nation Finish up any homework you have for Citizenship in the Nation. Letters to Senators. Work on the last several requirements.

14 June Flag Day Ceremony at the Elk's Each year the Elk's allow us to use their rifle range for one of our outings. In order to help repay their kindness, we help with the Flag Day ceremony at their meeting place. We will need seven scouts for this activity. There will be a signup sheet on the 11th.

18 June Youth Protection We will be viewing the Youth Protection video. This is a strongly encouraged meeting for all, and required for those people going to Philmont. We will have a signup sheet for the Cooking merit badge at this meeting, which would be a very good merit badge for those who currently don't have it. This meeting will be at the Regan's house.

25 June Citizenship in the Nation / Environmental Science trip Meet at 7:00 at Jefferson School, and we will be going to the EPA. This means that it is important to be on time.

25 Aug Rafting or Canoe Trip We plan on having a water trip late in August. The main requirement will be to show competence in the water by having the Swimming Merit badge.

--- Swimming Merit Badge John da Cunha has offered to teach the Swimming Merit Badge. This will be done at the city swimming pool. Who is interested in earning this merit badge?
