Agenda for 7 May 2001

SPL: Grant Kimble ASPL: Ty Farley

7:00 Opening flag ceremony

--- Newspapers Thanks to all of the scouts who helped tie newspapers on Sunday.

--- Packing Ty and Curtis have a demonstration on packing packs tonight.

2, 9, 19 May Adult Training Scout troops operate because parents participate in making opportunities available to their boys. This set of classes (3 days) helps parents learn more about the scouting program. Talk to the scoutmaster for more information.

12 Day Hike The group going to Philmont is going to the coast for a day hike. Others in the troop are welcome to come along as well. This should be a fairly level hike. Bring a lunch and water. The people going to Philmont should bring a full pack with the sort of weight you will be hiking with at Philmont. The exact length isn't planned at this point, but expect somewhere between 5 to 10 miles. Pass out a signup sheet

13 Mother's day Sometimes it seems like we have many weekends occupied with scouting activities. Mother's day is a good time to spend time with your family and especially your mom. Your family is a big part of what makes scouting function.

18-20 May Camporee This is an opportunity to test out your scouting skills, and Order of the Arrow tap out.

26 May Endicott Lake This is part of the Environmental Science merit badge.

Break

This evening, Jody Farley will be talking about air pollution with the scouts taking the Environmental Science merit badge. As I expect this to be a good talk, I'd like all of the scouts to be present for this discussion, even those not taking the merit badge.
