Agenda for 4 April 1999

7:00 Opening flag ceremony

ASPL Election

In honor of our fundraising efforts, we have fullfilled the requirements for the "Commisioners Challenge". This means that the awards we present at the Court of Honors are already paid for. This means that troop funds can be used for gear and activities.

Upcoming events: ??? The fingerprinting merit badge is being offered by the police department. This will not be during troop meetings, and will likely be on Wednesday evenings. Who is interested?

??? Cub camp (behind Avery Park) is looking for volunteers for den chiefs. This is a way to build skills teaching others, and also is a way to help with recruitment.

??? How many scouts have their "Citizenship in the World" merit badge? wait for a show of hands This is an Eagle required merit badge. Rowdy Webb has offered to run a class for this badge.

??? How many scouts have their swimming merit badge? wait for a show of hands It sounds like the area is going to be running a swimming merit badge class at the city pool. How many are interested in getting their swimming merit badge. This lets me take a count to Round Table.

26 Apr Order of the arrow elections. We have a number of scouts who are candidates. You should give careful thought as to who you feel demonstrate the spirit of scouting and service to others.

Reminders mentioned last time, but we still need to be aware of these dates: 17 Apr Scout show. We will need adult help, and all of the scouts possible to help with the tower. We will be doing preliminary set up the night before. 19 Apr Troop meeting. We will be having a safety talk for the archery/rifle trip. If you are going on the trip, you will need to be here. We will also be having webelow's, so be in uniform to give a good impression. 23 Apr Jefferson school carnival Jefferson sponsors our troop, and this is one of the ways we give back to the school. 24/25 Apr Archery / Rifle trip 14-16 May Camporee One of the adult leaders will be looking for the best home made, whittled, neckerchief slides he can find. There will be an appropriate prise. Need adult and scout volunteers to help practice scout craft during meetings.

Break.

Notes for Conrad and Trevor (Life/Eagle scouts): Camporee staff opportunities. Train usher for trip to/from the coast in August. See Dave Regan for more information.

Notes for Kevin Hanauer: If you are going to Camporee, they would like to have you registered as an EMT. I don't know if that impacts what you would want to bring on the campout.

7:30 Jody with Tower building If he is available.

Survey to find out what scouts need for rank advancement.

Closing flag ceremony.
